Lesson 1

Bible: Acts 9:1, 1 Timothy 1:15, Revelation 2:2, Revelation 2:4-5, Romans 3:23

Description - Before we dive into this study of the amazing book of Ephesians, we are going to take some time this week to understand a little background about when, where, and why this book was written.

Lesson 2

Bible: Ephesians 1:4, Romans 5:8, Ephesians 1:5 Ephesians 1:6-7

Description: A major theme in Ephesians—and really all of Paul’s writings—is the amazingness of God’s grace. It’s easy to get too used to that word. We sing about it, write about it, and hear about it in sermon after sermon. For a sinner like Paul (one of the worst of the worst) grace was something that he never lost a sense of awe and wonder for. This week we are going to break down grace and what it means to us.

Lesson 3

Bible: Ephesians 2:1-2, Genesis 2:7, Ephesians 2:3, Ephesians 2:4-5, Ephesians 2:8-9, Ephesians 2:10

Description: Adam and Eve chose sin, and ever since every human has earned his/her own death. God gave us a second chance. Because of His tremendous mercy and love for us, God sent Jesus to die in our place. The great judge, sentenced His innocent son to the death penalty that was meant for you and me. You were given a new life. This week we dive deep into this idea of death versus life.

Lesson 4

Bible: Ephesians 1:5, Romans 8:17, 1 Peter 2:9-10, Ephesians 3:6

Description: Many people sadly have a pretty poor understanding of what it means to have a loving father. Humans fail and distort the wonderful gifts God has given us. God is perfect. He wants nothing more than to adopt you into His family. This week’s lesson will walk students to seeing that no matter what they have done or will do God will always love them.

Lesson 5

Bible: Ephesians 4:1, Ephesians 4:2 , Matthew 5:39, Ephesians 4:2, Ephesians 4:15, Ephesians 4:3-4, Ephesians 4:13, Ephesians 4:22-23

Description: If you are a Christian, God has adopted you. Now that you’re His kid, it’s time to start living like it. We should obey God and live like His son because we love Him, not because we “have” to “or else…”

It is not about following rules but living for Him and honoring him.

Lesson 6

Bible: Ephesians 4:22-23, Ephesians 5:8, Ephesians 5:1-2, Matthew 5:14-16

Description: What does it look like to be the light in this world? Why does God ask us to do this? In this weeks lesson we are going to see why we are supposed to be a light and look at how we can that light.

Lesson 7

Bible: Ephesians 6:1, Exodus 21:15,17, Ephesians 6:2-3, Ephesians 6:5-9, Romans 13:1, 1 Timothy 2:1-3

Description: The Bible takes obedience very seriously. Paul sees it as incredibly important, so important that it is near the top of his list when talking about how to live a life worthy of our adoption.

Lesson 8

Bible: Ephesians 6:12, Luke 23:34, Ephesians 6:10-11, Ephesians 6:13, Ephesians 6:14-17, Matthew 16:18

Description: God is sending us into battle. He has saved us through His amazing grace, adopted us into His family so that we can carry out His critical mission. Our enemy is not the people around us, not even the ones that try to hurt us. It is the evil that is behind this world, hiding in the darkness.
