FREEDOM can be used as a 4-day camp, a teaching series + Bible study combo, retreat, or DNOW any time of the year.
Freedom Theme: Students often feel the pressure to live up to the expectations of others or expectations they put on themselves. Jesus offers a different path. The path of freedom.
Students will discover how Jesus has set them free from:
- Sin
- Perfection
- Religious duty
- Shame
They’ll also explore how Jesus has given them freedom to:
- Serve
- Forgive
- Love
- Suffer
Discipleship: Due to the small group Bible studies and theme, the focus of this event is discipleship.
The event consists of:
- Itinerary for a 3 or 4 day event
- Four messages
- Four small group Bible studies
- Five games related to the Freedom theme
- Two worship experiences
This event is flexible enough to be used as a 3 or 4 day event.

Messages
Message 1: Freedom from Sin
Bible Verses: Romans 6:14-18
Bottom Line: Jesus’ work on the cross breaks the power of sin in our lives … so we can choose to obey God and live by the Spirit.
Message 2: Freedom from Perfection
Bible Verses: 1 John 1:8-9
Bottom Line: God knows we aren’t perfect … so He offers unending grace as we pursue Him and the ways of His kingdom.
Message 3: Freedom from Religious Duty
Bible Verses: Matthew 11:28-30
Bottom Line: Following Jesus is not about empty rules…so we can trust the Holy Spirit to guide us through the Bible and our community.
Message 4: Freedom from Shame
Bible Verses: Lamentations 3:22-24
Bottom Line: God leads us with love and not shame…so we can resist feeling hopeless and receive His mercies every day.
Small Group Bible Studies
Bible Study 1: Freedom to Serve

Bottom Line: God’s freedom leads us to put others’ needs above our own and serve them in love.
Bible Study 2: Freedom to Forgive

Bottom Line: God’s freedom allows us to release to Him all the pain others have caused us and forgive them the way God has forgiven us.
Bible Study 3: Freedom to Suffer

Bottom Line: God’s freedom teaches us to look at suffering as an opportunity to deepen our trust in Him.

Bottom Line: God’s freedom invites us to receive his love and share it freely with others.

Worship Experiences
This event includes two worship experiences. Both are designed to give students a chance to respond to the message based on where they are in their faith journey.
The first worship experience should last around five minutes. The second worship experience should last around ten minutes.
