Week 1: INWARD APPEARANCE
Bible: 1 Samuel 16:7; 1 Peter 3:3-4; Proverbs 31:30; Luke 12:22-23; Genesis 1:26-27; 1 John 4:7-8
Bottom Line: The world is full of people who look at the outward appearance. God cares about your heart and loves you regardless of outward appearance.
(As students begin to discover who they are in school, they will discover that many of their peers focus their attention on outward appearance. This twist in life can cause them to think it is very important. However, God cares about our hearts, not our appearance.)
Week 2: UNEXPECTED BATTLES
Bible: 1 Samuel 17: 2-15; 1 Samuel 9:2; 1 Samuel 17:22-51; Psalm 23
Bottom Line: God will give you the courage and strength to face your everyday and unexpected battles.
Week 3: LIFE ISN’T FAIR
Bible: 1 Samuel 24:1-15; 1 Samuel 24:16-22; Psalm 57; Hebrews 6:10; James 1:12; Ecclesiastes 9:11
Bottom Line: There are going to be twists and turns in life that make situations seem unfair.
Week 4: WHO IS YOUR TRUE FRIEND?
Bible: 2 Samuel 12:1-19; Proverbs 18:24; Proverbs 13:20; John 15:13; Proverbs 27:17; Proverbs 17:17
Bottom line: You need to be a wise friend who shares the truth of Scripture with people. You need to have wise friends who are not afraid to share the truth of Scripture with you, even if it is to correct you.
