The Journey of Independence: New Junior High Series

Junior high is a time when students are pushing for more independence: choosing their own friends, deciding how to spend their time, and starting to shape their own values and beliefs. But with all this freedom comes big questions: What do I do when I want more freedom than my parents allow? How do I pick the right friends? What does it look like to make my faith personal?

This new 4-week junior high series teaches students how to navigate the tension between freedom and responsibility and shows them how God’s wisdom can guide their choices every step of the way. 

In this series, students will learn:

• Freedom is a gift from God, but it also comes with responsibility.
• Respecting their parents is an important part of growing in independence.
• The friends they choose will shape the direction of their life.
• True independence means making their faith their own.

Equip your students to handle their freedom with wisdom, respect, and faith, and give them the tools to grow into the leaders God is calling them to be.
